Rajasthan is burning!
I could see only one reason: our own Government of India.
There seem to be no identity for an Indian. Everybody wants to be a part of SC (Supereme Caste), ST( Supereme Tribe) and OBC(Other Big Community). No point to be a general Indian.
For me this is short term effect of encouraging caste based reservation.
Long term effect: unimaginable but I fear worse is yet to come.

Everybody suggested Hyderabad is a nice city. Schazeb gave the invaluable support to go ahead, his words matter to me.
Indeed, Hyderbad is a nice city, reminds me of Meerut.
Too many two wheelers, nice food, nice people and Hindi in Hyderabadi style makes it special. Open invitation to Biryani lovers...
Office near Hussain Sagar lake gives proud feeling of working at fine place.
Work starts with distributional properties, simulation and ends with Forward pricing curve, Value at Risk. I feel I'ld be able to learn a lot, proving Schazeb right.

For me research has started again if not thesis, demanding projects......As always i feel i know nothing.

Having seen the ups and downs in life.

but list doesn't ends here, above all a finance Guy.

I sit next to him and I feel drowning in sea of knowledge.

I wonder how people manage to learn so much and most importantly not to forget the things they know. Whenever this lively character sees exclamation sign on my face I get prompt reply "Are isme kya badi baat hai, aasan to hai" and the solution to the problem. At that time I feel that things are easy to do but the life is complex.

So getting tonnes of inspiration and equal amount of inferiority complex.It is a great feeling to see myself related to these people in some way but a pressue as well to be worth of being in that group.

Nation Of Knowledge

As far as I know we are known as "Nation of knowledge"(relatively cheap) in present world thanks to our workforce. But even in that front also I think we will not be able to keep that tag tucked to ourselves if things continued to progress in a way that they are I dont think it will take long to loose out to other countries. The reason why i think so comes from the fact that "SCIENCE" which is the most important material for the well being of a nation is loosing its value here.
I think lack of organisations working in the field of science and relatively low compensation packages. Most of the research in India is about implementing/updating the known facts instead of looking for new facts.
Top scientists hardly think of working in India.(Dentists gets more than a Scientist I dont intend to compare services but this is just to reflect the worth of a Scientist in India). Here it looks more about reviving history instead of thinking about future. I think R&D is the foundation stone for the progress of a nation.
We deal with forecasting problems but there is no such problems for India as we are safe to say that whatever is happening in US, 10 years down the line same will be the case with in India. So no need to worry about future.
The solution to this problem which my small brain can suggest is improve the education standard at college level and give orthodox science more respect by providing incentives to those who can worship the science at Graduate and Post Graduate level not by giving them a certificate of unemployment.

If you say that the most intelligent people in India, i mean to say IAS/PCS are puppets then I can understand as I believe that if some of them really want to do something for the good of public they will better be terrorists as they have to work against the will of politicians or atleast there own will. As they cant do good without being ruthless for some people especially politicians and union leaders.
These politicians are not puppets.
I remember one of our Prof. saying that a "little bit of corruption improves efficiency in the system". But here this little bit seems to be little too much.

All of this is because of puppets (according to you). Have you ever wondered how development athourities are able to manage roads, electricity and water problems just before the VIP visit?
That's because they are afraid of so called puppets.
Our law is powerful but the main problem is the rate and the manner in which problems are being addressed. So they should know how to use it.
I belive that the biggest problem of India is not its policies but it is the implementation. You can see this anywhere.

If Govt. really wants to improve the situation they should be given the free training so that they can compete with others. Think of a student who is a graduate and belong to a poor family (not talking about caste) you will hardly find one in thousands who will go for higher education instead of taking care of his/her family even if that fellow has an opportunity to study in IIM. One is never going to persue higher education if one's family is starving. In a scenario when there are not enough facilities at primary level its junk to think of higher education.
I think that better idea would be to provide full financial support who deserve not for the reserve. Why not provide free coaching with some stipend so that one can not only study but also can take care of family. Result will be an Indipendent and Competetent Indian. But Govt. might not have funds for any of the solution for a social term called "Mass Welfare". Politics seems to be all about INDIVIDUALS.

I remember telling Imran and commenting on Vibha's blog that I dont want to talk about politics because I feel it is the dirtiest topic to talk about. But I can't resist it now, I always thought that this field (politics) will become less ugly for a common man once a few academicians joins the stream. So I was very happy to see that learned persons like Dr. Manmohan Singh and Dr. Kalam taking over. But I am dissappointed. Ignoring nationwide protests from Doctors, Engineers and Management people is unthinkable and they are doing it with ease . And to my surprise there is no word from any opposition party either it seems that they are passing the law in case of Emergency.

They are going to increase the number of seats in a situation in which they are already vacant. Thinking about castes not about the people and creating a divide within country in a new fashion. Now if they want to justify there love for the castes (especially not the needy) they should give 100% financial assistance not only to these students but there families also to bring them up at the cost of others. Otherwise how can they use money collected through taxes. Giving subsidies for fuel to cook is underconsideration as it might fill empty stomachs(LPG price hike).
Govt. will feel bad as people might be happy...

I always believe that “A little knowledge is dangerous”. Looking at only one side of the deal is not enough, for short term we have got 60 tonnes of Uranium as soon as the deal was signed which we needed badly (If some of you know that India’s two Nuclear Reactors were critically short of Uranium supply). Everybody is selfish so why can’t we, what are our priorities. Being a developing country we need energy: cheap, clean (The volume of U-235 used in the first atomic bombs could be held in your hands. The result was an explosion equivalent to 40,000 conventional bombs.)and continious. One thing I know that conventional sources are not going to help so we have following options 1) Solar energy (costly) 2) Wind energy (Needs space) 3) Nuclear energy.
Now look at developed countries, all of them have nukes but how they are using it. If I am right for Energy, Nuclear ships and Submarines. And I can predict that in near future they will be using them for space ships and transportation. That’s what India needs for the short term. Why to bring US into the picture, more than US we need fuel from Russia and Australia. I think it will be great if we can use US to serve our purpose.

As Vibha says “Plutonium Reactor” better called FBC(Fast Breeder Reactor) I want to point out that it is nothing new, infact India has FBC’s but the thing is we don’t have fuel for them. Till now the deal with US says that NSG will supply fuel for Nuclear plants under International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards and India will have to use their own Uranium for other Reactors. This is good because India can use that Uranium for FBC’s which inturn can be used to process Plutonium and Thorium. Another promising technological prospect is the development of the reprocessing of used uranium to obtain plutonium, which, when recycled as fuel in nuclear reactors can reduce the need for primary uranium by 30%. It is thought by some people that with the generalization of the breeder-reactor and reprocessing, the developed countries will no longer need to import natural uranium within three or four decades
Even more FBC’s gives fuel, which can be used to build Nuclear Submarines etc.
At liftoff, an orbiter and External Tank carry 835,958 gallons of the principle liquid propellants: hydrogen, oxygen, hydrazine, monomethylhydrazine, and nitrogen tetroxide. The total weight is 1,607,185 pounds. Critical mass for Uranium is roughly 5 kgs and for plutonium is 16 kgs. So if one can use nuclear fuel how light a Space shuttle will be?
One last thing which hardly anybody recognized that India has second largest reserve of Thorium in the World (http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf62.htm) and with little help of technology there will be no stopping for India.

Recently I saw a comment which suggested a reading-
“Why Are Not Economists As Important As Garbage Men?” by David Colander.
I thought about Garbage Men first i.e why are they important, what kind of work they do. Indeed they are part of the integrated part of our society. But what they do is "They dump garbage from one place to another(is that really of use)" Even they have to be told how to manage that garbage in a way it is least harmful. For which they need technical knowledge which comes from Science. Though implementation is done by atomic unit of the system only. This process is nice but it should be efficient and cost effective. I think here comes the Economists.
I don't think Economists belong to some special breed, according to me they belong to a family called Researchers and I belive they all work for the betterment of Mankind.
I wish sometime I am part of that Group.

Machine against mission

After spending a week in time pass, I decided to go back to bussiness.
I was determined to get some unknown results that night so that I can show my face to my Supervisor.
My mission `get some results'.
I tried "The Gift Of God" ------------"GOOGLE SEARCH"
But of no use because I am working on a new Idea(So called research by philosophers)
I was not disheartened, I thought of a new Idea and started working on it.
In ten minutes time my "Desktop started working according to its mood."
At first, Caps Lock funtioning got reverse(bearable)
Then, Scroll mouse started making fun of me(On scrolling up it gave previously visited web page and vice-versa).
I was very irritated as I have a habit of using mouse too often.
I showed this to my colleague and to my surprise she found that there is nothing wrong with me, as I believe machines are always right.
I tried different settings but none of them worked for me.
After breaking half an hour on this new found problem I gave up.
My machine(Computer) won, my mission failed.
I logged out with a quote "My computer don't want me to study".
In the morning I tried to log in, but my system refused to recognize me.
I am happy :) as today is a holiday and there is nobody from the helpdesk to cure my Dear System.

At times I wonder.... whether I belong to an Economic Institution or an Advanced Computer Institute.
Recently, I got an assignment to write a code in Brand New Software, which is alien to everybody in my Institute. It uses language similar to S or S(plus) but I don't know any of them.
Somehow I managed to do the task after 3 days of pondering and I submitted.
I was asked again to write my own code not the available procedures.
With favour of God I managed to do it again in two days, applying the basics of the language. In a way my own program. I got a compliment too " it's not a kindergarten game".

Now again I am upto the task and now I know how big the problem is " a sea of calculations and loops" .
All new commands, which are forcing me to forget all other packages.
Nowadays-even dreams are similar to some programming session.
I always think if I am done with all these things I'll better be called a Computer Science Wizard
instead of an Economist.
............Continuing programming with the hope that "HUM HONGE KAMYAB EK DIN"

But I am highly thankful to my Guide who is my inspiration.

Details: Imran likes only one girl.
Schazeb was in campus library.
It was late night, A girl asks him when he will be going up.he said in an hour or so. she said me too. Schazeb said we'll go togather.
Unfortunately he has to come up for some work but look at the culprit he combs his hair and goes down to library . Just to come up with that girl.
If somebody ask him to go down and come up he will never do that whatever the reason is.

But God is Omnipresent (When he went back to library the girl already left).

Sometimes I doubt if this world has one phase only.

At times Life is worse than Hell (as I have not seen the Hell)!!
and in a moment, without any sign it becomes yielding( you get whatever you want)

Uncertainity becomes certainity in a flash.

Undoubtedly I'm having a terrific time with my Profs this month.
Sometimes they look for me and sometimes I'm in search of them.

Every meeting of ours is fruitful(unbelievable for me)

Surprisingly everyone wants me to go home with special comments like{why don't you go home for a month? Go ahead (when asked 4 leave), HAVE FUN( from my special prof) }

One of them even suggested me tips how to maximize my leave....

Religion I never had one, during childhood I believed that I follow Hinduism but I know that its not true.

As u mentioned Meerut, it’s true that it is my hometown and I like the city.
Not because of place but the people.
Even that is Past, Present is Mumbai and Future………. I don’t know.
