Short term effect of reservation
Rajasthan is burning!
I could see only one reason: our own Government of India.
There seem to be no identity for an Indian. Everybody wants to be a part of SC (Supereme Caste), ST( Supereme Tribe) and OBC(Other Big Community). No point to be a general Indian.
For me this is short term effect of encouraging caste based reservation.
Long term effect: unimaginable but I fear worse is yet to come.

dude why do you fear about shit like this
i would like to differ with you here... i think the short term prospects are much worse than the longer term ones... the situation is so worse right now b'coz we're still not out of the 1947 mindset..but the new generation holds out hope... since they generally value merit more than birth.. what say?

I agree with Gaurav that the long-term effects are worse than short term. It's like inflation and license raj. Inflation kills you in the short run, but license raj ruins the capacity of an economic system and in a globalized world no country can afford that. be ready to pay more tax for this non-sense...
